About the role

Our client, a well-established and growing business based in Crewe, is looking for an experienced Office Administrator to join their friendly office team. This is a genuinely varied role at the heart of the operation — you'll be the person who keeps orders moving, records straight and the office running smoothly, working closely with the sales, despatch and accounts teams. The business has a low staff turnover and a supportive, down-to-earth culture: people stay because they're treated well. Full training on their systems is provided, and there's scope to grow the role for the right person.

What you'll be doing

  • Process sales orders and purchase orders accurately and on time
  • Raise invoices, credit notes and delivery paperwork
  • Manage the shared inbox, routing enquiries to the right person and responding to routine queries yourself
  • Answer incoming calls professionally and take clear messages
  • Maintain customer and supplier records on the internal database
  • Book couriers, meeting rooms, travel and appointments
  • Prepare simple reports and spreadsheets for managers
  • Order office supplies and keep on top of general office upkeep
  • Support the wider team with ad-hoc administrative projects

What we're looking for

  • Previous administration experience in a busy office environment
  • Confident with Microsoft Office — particularly Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Accurate data entry with genuine attention to detail
  • A clear, friendly telephone and email manner
  • Well organised, able to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines
  • Experience with Sage, an ERP or CRM system (desirable)
  • Experience in a distribution, manufacturing or trade environment (desirable)

The package

• £25,000 – £26,000 depending on experience • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays • Company pension scheme • Free on-site parking • Early finish on Fridays • Full training and a proper handover
