Executive Assistant

Manchester · £32,000 - £38,000 · Full-time, 37.5 hrs · Hybrid — 3 days office, 2 days home

Posted 26 August 2026 · Closes 23 September 2026 · Recruiting on behalf of a client — no fees for candidates

About the role

Our client, a fast-growing company headquartered in central Manchester, is recruiting an Executive Assistant to support their Managing Director and senior leadership team. This is a proper right-hand role: complex diaries, board meetings, confidential matters and the daily judgement calls that keep busy executives where they need to be, with the information they need in front of them. You'll have real autonomy and visibility across the whole business. The MD is looking for someone who anticipates rather than reacts — the kind of EA who has already rebooked the train, flagged the clash and drafted the reply before being asked. In return, the business offers hybrid working, genuine involvement in interesting work and a leadership team that treats its EA as a trusted partner, not an afterthought.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage complex, fast-changing diaries across multiple senior leaders
  • Triage and manage the MD's inbox, drafting replies and flagging priorities
  • Plan and book UK and international travel with detailed itineraries
  • Organise board meetings end to end: agendas, papers, minutes and follow-up actions
  • Prepare presentations, reports and board packs to a high standard
  • Chase actions across departments on the executives' behalf and keep projects moving
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with complete discretion
  • Organise company events, leadership offsites and visitor programmes
  • Manage expenses, approvals and ad-hoc personal support

What we're looking for

  • Proven EA/PA experience supporting director or C-suite level
  • Excellent written English — you'll draft correspondence in the MD's voice
  • Advanced Outlook and strong PowerPoint/Word skills
  • Calm, discreet and confident dealing with senior people inside and outside the business
  • Highly organised, with the judgement to prioritise ruthlessly
  • Minute-taking experience at board level (desirable)
  • Experience in a scaling SME or PE-backed business (desirable)

The package

• £32,000 – £38,000 depending on experience • Hybrid working — 3 days in the Manchester office • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays • Private healthcare • Company pension scheme • City-centre office close to Metrolink and rail
